Charlie Jordan, Jr. (the junior is a contractual requirement between Sr. and I) was born on April 13, 1961, at Camden Community Hospital, a modest brick community medical center located on land now occupied by Quarry Hill.
Charlie was raised in Camden, graduating with limited distinction from Camden-Rockport High School in 1979.
From 1979 through 1987, Charlie squeezed four years of college into eight at the University of Maine at Orono, graduating with a B. A. in economics (and only three credits shy of a minor in Asian history). Both of these subjects would serve him well as chief of the Rockland Fire Department.
In 1985, after realizing he could not live forever in the Alpha Tau Omega house (the same house that brought us Allen Fernald), he took the advice of CRHS freshman science teacher Charlie Perry and married for money. He and the current Mrs. Jordan, the former Miss Robin Hersom, have been happily married ever since and have two wonderful (maybe too strong a word) children, Mackenzie and Jeffrey.
Charlie will be dancing the cha-cha with Swing & Sway’s Bonny Branch on April 27, at the fourth annual Dancing with the Local Stars!
Editor’s note: this hilarious bio was written by Charlie himself.
